In Bangladesh, where thunderstorms frequently disrupt daily life and cause extensive damage to infrastructure, ensuring safety from lightning strikes has become a crucial part of urban planning and building construction. At Muspana, we recognize the growing need for reliable lightning protection systems (LPS) to shield both residential and commercial structures from these unpredictable natural hazards.

That’s why Muspana proudly offers the Eurostar Lightning Protection System — a state-of-the-art solution engineered to intercept and safely dissipate the immense energy of lightning strikes. Designed to meet international standards, our system integrates Early Streamer Emission (ESE) technology, protecting buildings from the devastating effects of lightning.

What’s Protecting Your Building from Lightning? Discover Muspana’s LPS!

A Lightning Protection System is a network of components designed to protect structures by intercepting lightning strikes and safely conducting the electrical current to the ground. Muspana’s Eurostar LPS includes several key components:

At the heart of this system is the Eurostar Air Terminal, which features Early Streamer Emission (ESE) technology. Unlike traditional lightning rods, ESE technology captures lightning strikes earlier, offering more effective protection. The system includes 6 auxiliary rods, which discharge additional electromagnetic charges, allowing for a longer and more powerful upward streamer. This air terminal protects structures up to 214 meters in radius, ensuring extensive coverage.

Another essential component is the Surge Protection Device (SPD), which safeguards low-voltage electrical systems from power surges caused by lightning. The SPD absorbs the surge, ensuring sensitive equipment remains intact. It’s designed for high efficiency, with quick response times and fast recovery, making it ideal for areas prone to electrical surges. Additionally, it provides a low-impedance path to ground, safely dissipating surge energy and preventing damage to electrical circuits.

The Eurostar Flash Counter is an innovative feature that tracks the number of lightning strikes intercepted by the system. This 3-digit LCD screen display shows the total number of lightning strikes arrested by the system, and its battery-powered design ensures it works even during power outages, giving peace of mind to the property owner.

Lastly, the grounding system ensures safe dissipation of the lightning current into the ground. Low-impedance grounding helps reduce the risk of electrical fires and structural damage. Electrodes are strategically installed in the ground to ensure lightning energy is safely redirected away from the building.

A Vision for a Safer Bangladesh

In Bangladesh, where lightning strikes are frequent, Muspana’s Eurostar Lightning Protection System (LPS) offers vital protection for buildings and infrastructure. Using Early Streamer Emission (ESE) technology, our system intercepts lightning earlier, reducing the chance of damage and preventing fires caused by lightning hitting flammable materials.

Beyond safety, the LPS system provides a cost-effective solution, saving businesses and homeowners from costly repairs and recovery. Certified to ISO 9001 and IEC 62305, it ensures top-quality protection. Additionally, Surge Protection Devices (SPD) safeguard sensitive electronic equipment from voltage surges caused by indirect lightning strikes.

Since 2017, Muspana has completed over 40 LPS projects across Bangladesh, trusted by the Ministry of Environment. With Muspana’s LPS, homes, hospitals, schools, and high-rises can stay safe, no matter the storm.
